I've always fancied getting a MAC coz they look purty.

Unfortunately, I can't justify the cost just... or maybe I should say my wife can't justify the cost.

That's the only reason I've ever considered getting one. Just for it's looks!

For an item you would buy to show off to your mates it's bloody expensive

I wonder if I'd get the same kind of results in a web design or multimedia forum..

On a web design/multimedia forum, definitely you can find a better ratio in favour of Mac users...

Yes, I think so. In fact, when I'm designing, I use a Mac. When I'm fiddling around with databases and coding and such, I use a PC

I prefer rather to change the OS than the system itself. Windows [ ] Linux.

Since I can't afford to buy a new Mac, I make-do with dual-booting my PC with a Linux OS and skinning it to have a Mac-like feel.

I like PC's. But I'd almost buy a Mac, just to be able to buy an iPod, they are cool! But cannot be connected to pc

Ah, and I also run Win/Linux dual boot on my main PC.

With VirtualPC, you can load Windows on your Mac, but the program is installed on my friend's computer, and she's having real problems with it. Hopefully the technology will improve... It's a great idea. The only reason I didn't buy a Mac (price aside) is that I couldn't run Windows programs on it.

PC's have so much more software available, are so more config-able, much cheaper and nicer to upgrade (not to mention fun). One thing i find frustrating with macs is theres no 'right click'. !
