Need Help

I have a Sony SDT 9000 tape drive installed on Compaq ML 350 server. The OS is Win 2000 server.

Whenevr I try to insert a tape into the drive, it is thrown back. After several attampts, sometimes it accepts the tape but when I try to take a backup, the backup utility gives errors (either "Tape is write protected" or "Tape format is unrecongnized"

Need urgent help.

Have you attempted to use someone elses tape just to test it?
