A good programmer is not a person who knows everything. That is impossible. A good programmer, however, knows where to look to FIND the solution to a problem. That solution may be found in a reference book, previous code examples, etc. That solution may also come from a programming community like this one.

For this reason, my first quarter students have been assigned to register for certain programming message boards, use the search feature to find my thread, and post there to show that they found it.
