Angry Eliminating internet pop up adds

I have a silly question to ask, but I have to ask it because I am so furiious and angry.
How can I stop the pop up advertisements from poping up on the screen? I have an msn email account which does not rely on advertisements. Those pop up advertisements are annoying.
I even installed McAfee firewall, but it did not stop those annoying adds.
I cannot finish typing one line without being interrupted fifty time before I finish typing one line of text.
Any ideas? Any software I can use?
-Thank you

Install the google toolbar. There is a pop-up killer in it. It works for me.

Perfect Solution

Husam,

Shoot the Messenger. Actually, something called the 'Eindows Messenger

Service' which has nothing to do with your MSN Messenger or other chat

software, runs by default and without your consent under WinXp, WinNT,

and Win2000. Popup ads can be broadcast to this service without needing

your e-mail ID or even your browser. Download the small 22k utility,

aptly called Shoot the Messenger from grc.com and disable this service

immediately, as it is also a serious security risk.
