Future in SQL Server

I have been in Toronto for the past 6 months and was unable to land an interview or a job. After attending a job fair recently, I decided to do MCDBA since my qualifications are pretty outdated and moreover I need a job. So, fellow members of this forum, I need some feedback from all of you with regards to the certification. Is MCDBA the in-thing now in job market.? Will there be a chance to get a job without any prior database experience.? Is there a future in SQL Server. I know having a Oracle certification is much better. But I wanted to start at MCDBA. Please advice. Thanks alot and much appreciated.

Maybe we can coax a reply from R937. Rudy might be able to give you more insight than most of us can.
