Question Paradox 4.5 & Xp

We have been successfully using a database application for the past twelve years that was written in Paradox. We're currently using Paradox 4.5 (dos). We didn't upgrade past version 4.5, because we always thought we would eventually replace this application. Alas, we never did replace it, and about two years ago the developer died in a motorcycle accident. The application has worked just fine, until we upgraded some of our PC's to Windows XP. Now we have problems.

The appication launches fine, and parts of the application work just fine too, but accessing some features will lock up the pc. Does anyone know what might be causing this? What should we do about it? Does anyone know of a reliable paradox developer resource in the Detroit, Michigan, USA area?

Unfortunately, a Paradox-for-DOS application is rapidly reaching the point where it is no longer supportable. The current Windows-XP systems simply aren't going to keep maintaining support for this much longer. Remember, Paradox-for-DOS was architected at a time when a 2-gigabyte hard drive was inconcievably large, as was 16 megabytes of RAM.

As far as developer resources are concerned... "location in space is no longer an issue." There is a world-full of skilled Paradox resources who can assist you.
