User pc's were upgraded to XP 5 months ago. About 2 months ago, one of the apps, used by 3 of 50 lan users for updating their specific files, gets a white screen occasionally. When the white screen occurrs, opening the task manager shows 2 versions of Pdx8, which locks the pc until 1 version exits. When the white screen returns, control moves to minimized app, or another pdx8 minimized menu item. What can cause this and is there a remedy somewhere?

Your users are accidentally opening paradox twice. Then can happen when the computers are slow and the user tries to double click again. I would start with that presumption since it is only occurring in 6 percent of your cases. (They will of course deny this occurrence until the bitter end.)
