How to use Paradox/Word Perfect with XP Pro

My experience goes back to WordPerfect on a Morrow. I had advanced to WP 8/Paradox 8 on my Windows ME, and could access and use data from Paradox 8 in WordPerfect. It didn't work on my XP Pro, so I bought WP 12 and Paradox 11. With all the fixes provided by Corel, I am able to read my Paradox data (provided I don't install any other software that uses BDE). However, I can't use the data directly in Word Perfect, nor can I export it to WordPerfect.

When I installed Paradox 7 on my XP Pro (SP2) system I needed to tell it to be compatible with Windows NT4. If I didn't it would appear to be OK until I needed a dialogue box (like setting up the Working Directory) then the OK / Cancel buttons didn't show up. May be worth a try !

I solved it!

In Windows XP, neither my Word Perfect 8 nor my Word Perfect 12 will import.db or Paradox file. I exported my Paradox .db table to Paradox tablel .dbf. Now Word Perfect uses the table data as it did in Windows ME
