Paradox 8 and Windows XP Printing Problem

Anyone having problems printing with Paradox 8, or any version of Paradox, with Windows XP?

My system evokes the GPF error and crashes - 80 percent of the time!

Thanks . . . Rick

Did you upgrade from Win XP/XP SP1 to XP SP2 and do you have a network connected printer ?

I have heard of GPF's or slow print performance after an upgrade to XP SP2 was completed. To get around the slow print performance if you have a network printer, is to try deleting the printer from your Printers setup and then re-add.

Some more details on this can be found here http://hem.bredband.net/bertilisberg...eyond/bid2.htm

Alternatively check you have the latest service pack for Paradox 8. I personally skipped this version and used Paradox 9 and 10, but you may find a service pack will resolve your problem also.

Also, be sure that the printer you're printing is not one of those network printers "authomagically" installed by XP; they're known to have problems.

If it is, remove it, and reinstall it by explicitly doubleclicking the printer icon in network resources.
