I need a sanity Check!!!


I am an experienced developer (20+ years), I recently found myself trying breath life into a Paradox 8 database application, and I admit I am a paradox virgin

Can someone please explain the following problem.

When I develop a simple report, 1 table, 3 fields (word wrap turned ON (by Default)), no grouping. The report does not display the data properly.

If I turn WORD WRAP off for each field, then the report displays properly.

And of course I do need word wrapping for this report!!!

Is this a bug or oversight on my part?

can't answer your question, from what has been presented.. first, I don't see any failed wrapping.. second, I don't know how you made your groups in the report, how you placed the fields, etc..

You dont see any failed wrapping because the data dosn't display at all, look at the two attachments.

The attachment "withWordWrap.bmp" shows the lines I used as record dividers and for some freakish reason only record 21 is displayed.

The attachment "withOUTWordWrap.bmp" shows 5 records of data.

There is NO grouping on the report. The report consists of the following sections
REPORT
PAGE
RECORD

sorry, I don't play with this stuff regularly anymore.. that's still not enough for me to do much more than guess.. your best bet is to place this on the paradox community newsgroup, where most of the long-time developers hang out.. Home - Paradox Community
