When attempting to send an e-mail, the error message in the attached screen shot comes up. It is an error box labeled Paradox. It has a red X with the word Main next to it. The choices are OK, Design and Help. Help says there are no helps, design puts the form in Design mode. OK hangs up Paradox.

Has anyone seen this before?

not surprising, since your app caused the error..

also not surprising, since the app error threw this up there in the first place.. looks like it timed out trying to send the e-mail, based on what we can see underneath....

unfortunately, that's what it's supposed to do, if the Design button appears..

problem is, an app should never let the Design button appear.. in any platform, this is why we have "error trapping" processes.. you'll need to contact the person that supports your app..

At least give me some credit for saying it is an inscrutable error message.

I am the one who supports this app. It has been working fine up to now.

The error message comes immediately: there is no pause at all. This is my test form to try to see what is going on. Single stepping shows that it fails in the logondlg. The app you saw in the background in the previous post is a 24/7 app which successfully sent some e-mails at about 3AM but got hung up. Later, when the app was cleared, it comes up with this message due to an errorshow().

At any rate, the message comes up with or without an errorshow().

If it is a timeout, how long would that be?

I'll assume it's the "send" that's failing.. my html always uses /tr and /td everywhere, but I don't know if not doing that will cause an error..

that was a guess, based on what I was seeing in the first screen shot..


if you need detailed help, you really need to go to the paradox community web site, Home - Paradox Community, as many of my messages here suggest.. that's where most of the remaining long-time paradox people hang out.. I'm the only one that checks in here, and I don't even keep pdoxwin loaded on my laptop any more..
