Hi ,

I use paradox 9 .there are no issues on a general basis while accessing this application.

There are around 10 users on this application.

We are facing an error as below:

Unexpected:general protection violation error
Click ok to save documents and continue or abort to exit paradox.

This error happens only sometimes while using a functionality.Same functionality during other times dont cause any error,
Recently this has become to frequent.

Any suggestions on cause .

without know the exact context of the GP error, there is absolutely no way to present any intelligent guesses.. and even then, it still might only be a WAG..

basically , there is a particular funtionality which stores data in a particular table.
During peak working times, this table is viewed by many users and at the same time data in the table is amended by some users .

Once after viewing details in the table via front end and click on OK (sometimes data is amended, sometimes just viewed) , the error message as mentioned above is displayed.
Error also says click Ok to save docs and continue or abort to exit.
But clicking Ok does not help.


same activities do not cause error always.hence would welcome any guesses if possible.

Verified the table limit for number of records, no. of users etc.

first, the "verify" process is often useless.. make a backup, rebuild, restructure, review..
