Supress fields based on suppressed subreport

Hi there. I've searched the board for a while, but have not been able to turn up a scenario close to mine, so figured I would toss it out there for the pros.

I was wondering if it was possible to supress fields in a report based on the fact that a subreport is suppressed?

I have a subreport that selects related customers, and then prints the 'parent' customer and then 'children' customers under them (child company is owned by the parent company). I have it set to supresses the customer in the subreport if they have a certain flag on them in the db. So on my main report, the 'parent' will be blank like I want, but the 'children' will still show up. It's not truly 'null' for me to do a format or SQL statement.

Can you supress based on suppression???

Thanks,
Mark
