I'm trying to create a formula where I can obtain an account name from an ID in another table.

It is the equivalent of an innner join in SQL.

SELECT account.name
FROM account a
INNER JOIN service_obligation o
ON a.ID = o.ID

How can I do this in Crystal? I have the ids from both tables and need to just get the name and number for the account.

The simplest way is to add the second table to the report. As you're doing that, you tell Crystal what type of join to use.

Depending on the version of Crystal there may be a theoretical limit to the number of tables you can have in one report, but I've never hit it in 12 years.
