Question Sorting on a calculated field in a group header

I am using Crystal XI and am trying to sort descending on a calculated field that used a pre-existing calculated field and a field from the SQL database I am connected to. When I go to the sort menu the field I want to use is not showing up. What is the reason for this and how can I sort this field?

I am taking a guess that I will have to make a SQL view or something to house the calculated field instead of calculating them in the report, but I was hoping there was a way to do this inside of Crystal.

Thank you,

So I have found out that you can make SQL expressions inside of Crystal but have been unable to figure out how the heck to format the query correctly. I have tried every way I know how and have even Googled as many ways that I could. None work. Can someone please give me a sample of how to call a query in Crystal XI? Please...
