UML composition query

hi,

can someone please advise, according to the composition diagram (see attachment):

can a feature exist without having to specifiy a classifier?, or

must a feature specify an owner classifier in order to exist?

due to an appalling nights sleep, my brain is so tired im unable to work out this simple problem

thanks in advance

Get some sleep, then work on it tomorrow. Doing your homework is the only real way to learn the material.

A what diagram?

Pfft,

What happened to real database theory courses in university. ERD diagrams and functional dependencies are the only true way to design a database. Keep application developers and their UML away!
