For entity types, you could use normal entities. You don't need any special kind of entity type that I can think of for this job.

For attributes, you probably want size, weight, and color among others.

normal entites are?

in fact, i need to design a huge project--POS SYSTEM for a chain of retail stores (computer's homework)...so i need to design a complicating ERD...
so i think the attributes you suggested is too simple....
wt should i mention in this? inventory? bill? customers? employee? order? sale?
cry:...seem so difficult...

Then you need to go to you teacher and complain that he didn't teach you anything about entities or attributes.

Getting started ...

You need to show that you have done something before we help you.

Here's a 'Kick-Start' Data Model on the Database Answers web site to get you thinking along the right lines :-
http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_...tail/index.htm

Here's a page on a Tutorial to help you understand the Database Model Schema :-
http://www.databaseanswers.org/tutor...al_slide_5.htm

Here's a page with a Data Model covering Customers and Orders :-
http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_...ders/index.htm

Here's a page listing more than 450 Data Models, including a whole lot for Customers and different kinds of Inventory :-
http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models/index.htm

Look at them, think about them, produce a composite Data Model where you take the relevant Entities from other Models.

Then get back to us.
