Iam looking for a job in Data Modelling, can any experienced people tell me how complex the Real-Time requirements would be? Can anyone provide me some examples.

The requirements that are needed to be modelled when u r in a Data modeler position.

In that case the complexity depends on the project, the thing you are modelling.

What do you know of data modelling? Have you taken any courses, read any books?

yeah, I went throught Data Modelling training and I have been practising the requirements that are found in the DATABASE CONCEPTS & DESIGN (DBFORUMS) forum. But people are telling me that the requirements would be more complex and involve many tables. So, I just wanted to know like how complex would they be?

Not always. More than once I have had something scratched on a cocktail napkin by a boss.

Again, that depends on the project.

If you want to practice then I would suggest you chose to model something familiar to you. The tricky part of modelling IMHO is catching all the little quirks of the subject, and to do this you need something real that you know. This could be as simple as making a database for your CDs (this innocuous sounding project can get more complex than it sounds) to modelling part of your employer's business. Alternatively, you might know someone running a small business that would like a database to help them out.
