Question Behaviour of MSDE 2000A during power failure.

Hello everyone,

I am currently assigned to a project that deals a lot with databases (I was in touch with them many years back, so got slightly out of touch). My first problem is data retainment.

1. I want to know what happens to an open database (MSDE in my case) if the power suddenly goes off.
2. How can I replicate/mirror data between two hard disks so that incase one (hard disk) fails, I have a backup ready.

Any help is appriciated.

Regards,

Checkout the MSSQL Server dBforum under Database Server Software.

You'll have better luck there

thank you for the suggession, but alas, the same question has been lying in there all the way but no one seemed to feel it useful to answer.

Regards,
Harsha.
