i have normalised the attached document from unf to boyce codd NF can n e 1 tell me whether i have done it correctly

Here's my version of the third normal form of your original document.

I didn't notice the later version as it wasn't referenced on the post that your private mail pointed to.

If you're being utterly rigorous, you should also exclude the city from the address as it's derivable from the postcode, but probably only specialised mailing systems would go this far.

Sorry, I left off the 'Cpacity' column from the third table. Here's a corrected version.

No, it's not. You've got duplicate rows in your Vehreg table and you haven't factored out Make, Model and Cpacity. I suggest you take a closer look at my reply.

Sorry, there isn't really enough information about the business model to say - eg. what exactly is the relationship between staff members and vehicles? Is it always one to one as you've shown? Seems unlikely that someone wouldn't drive a different car if the need arose.

Here's a document I wrote a while ago with a good example in it. (Ignore the stuff about the associative model.)

thanks for that - sorry i wasn't clear about the staff members. the deal with that is . some staff members are car owners and some car owners own more than one car. thatk sfor the document it has helped quite abit especially with my third normal form.

after reading you document my normalisation for my table2.doc is correct! ( yipppeeee) can you double check that though please ,just to make sure of that?
