Weak and strong relationships

Can anyone please explain to me the differences between weak and strong relationships and how they would appear differently in an ERD model? I tried to explain this to my students and they seem extremely confused.

fairly decent presentation

here's the url to the actual PPT file --> E-R Modeling

either your browser can read it directly, or you can download it as a PPT file and open a viewer

it reads a lot better in the original format
