DBMS Implementation

Hi all,
We have to implement a dbms from core. For this, we want to know what are all the softwares that are already existing, which can be used in helping us build this. Where can we get information about all this. Is there some place on the web that has info required for dbms implementors or some forum where these discussions happen. I didn't find one on this site. Do help me out.

Thanks.

Re: DBMS Implementation

I think most/all DBMS implementors build all their own software, they don't put them together from kits. Why are you trying to build one yourself, apparently without any background knowledge? That is an incredibly tall order.
