Does 'UOW waiting' take server resources?

UDB DB2 V6.1 FP10, AIX 4.3.3.

Does there multiple idle(UOW Waiting) sessions have any impact on the server, ie slow down performance, taking up resources ? anything that could significantly affect server performance ?

Because at any point of time, i could see 150 sessions are idle, & 10 are executing.

Thank you.
Prakash

They do take up a bit of resources - primarily memory ... This may be a problem if you are using a memory constrained system ... Otherwise, I cannot think of a reason why these waiting connections will have an impact on the system

Cheers

Also check the bottle necks in OS if any....

If you experience slow performance in executing any os or db2 commands, cross check the fixpack level is fine with the os level.

Thanks
