db2 connect error

Hi,

You can remove the sqlnodir under the sqllib and try.
Also make sure that you have configured DRDA parameters(port address,ip address) correctly .

SQL1038C An I/O error occurred while accessing the node directory. SQLSTATE=58031

Any ideas what can be done to fix it ?

Anil

Also, do i have to do anything different to user a ver 8.1 client to use it with a ver 7.2 database.

thanks

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/produc...xpakReadme.txt

Read 2.5.2.

Note:
FixPak 8 is the minimum prerequisite if you want to use a Version 8 client to
connect to a Version 7 server. Therefore, anyone updating to FixPak 8 will
also have to run the db2updv7 command.
And do the whole rebind stuff for each db.

Old old thread Im sorry but just had to chim in, this fixed me. Just installed v8.1 on win2k and I couldn't even setup a database. Forced me to input node info which isn't there. Weird that I had to delete an empty directory to get the configuration correct
