fatal error during installation

I am trying to uninstall DB2 universal db Enterprise server edition 8.1 fixpak 4 from windows 2000 professional so that I can reinstall it with datawarehouse options. I am doing this from the Add/Remove programs interface. I get the error: "fatal error during installation". I have stopped all oracle and db2 processes and cleaned the registry for good measure and rebooted my machine but no joy. Any ideas how I complete this uninstall and install?

Try installing now ... The install may repair the current installation
Cheers

I've tried that an get a pop-up this dialogue:

"Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove programs on the control panel"

Have you tried removing SQLLIB/ ? (to the recycle bin, just in case ) I assume you did if you've done the registry bit.

Are there any db2* files under the \windows (or \winnt) directory?

Is there anything in the \db2log directory that may give you a clue? If not, the other thing you can do is start the install from a DOS command line and specify the trace options, might tell you what it's looking at when it decides that DB2 is still installed. I believe it's "db2setup -t <tracefile>".

Or call support.
