How could I know if my db2 db has been updated with a fixpack ?

When you connect you should get info like below:
In this instance, the DB is 8.1.4, or 8.1 FixPak 4.

Database Connection Information

Database server = DB2/NT 8.1.4
SQL authorization ID = DB2PROD
Local database alias = PERFDB

I don't think the release number will tell you because not all fixpacks have new version numbers. You can tell by the fixpack number, such as U497634 (AIX) or WR21340 (Windows), both of which are Version 8 fixpack 6. You can find this with the db2level command.
