userexit program

Hi,

We have ver 8.1 on aix 5.3 . Its a 4 logical node server.
We need to turn on user exit to do archival logging.

Set up the userexit = on .
do I need to do turn it ON on all the nodes? What about log retain.

Also once I turn it on, which program can i modify to archive the logs on TSM server?
