Thumbs down v8 client going against v7 server >> SQL3282N

[Why won't this bulletin change the subject when you realize you made a mistake, edit your post and change the subject line? It only shows the modification once you go IN thepost. ARGH!]

Although I'm aware of the numerous limitations, I can connect from a v7 client to a v8 server. However, I have not been able to go the other way around. When I try, I get a SQL3282N error (The supplied credentials are not valid.)

Anybody been able to do this?

TIA!
