Version Info: DB2 v8 on Windows/linux

I was reading a book on exam 700 and I got a couple of questions, I would appreciate if any one of you could help me here...

1) it says DB2 WSE/WSUE on Windows can act as a server for mainframe clients/applications, I thought only ESE had the AS functionality

2) I know in v7 search discovery of CA (or CCA in v7) supported NetBios and TCP/IP protocols and Known discovery supported all but APPC, Is that the way still in v8 or have they changed their minds?
