Question DB2 Ver 8.2 Stinger

Would applying fixpak 7 for DB2 Ver 8.1 actually take you to Ver 8.2 code name Stinger. We downloaded some documentation that indicates that, but we weren't sure. Plus the instructions to migrate from ver 7 to ver 8 didn't include an additional step for migrating outside of the regular Migrate command. IBM had one of our associates run the following command (db2updv8 -d "database name") to migrate a database, after appling fixpak 7. Now we aren't sure if we are ver 8.2 (Stinger) or still at just ver 8.1. We are using DB2 UDB for Windows

Yes DB2 v8.1 at Fixpack 7 level is Db2 V8.2 or Stinger.

Db2level command will show DB2 CODE Release as SQL08020.

db2level
DB21085I Instance "DB2DMD01" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08020" with level identifier "03010106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.7.445", "s040812", "WR21342", and FixPak
"7".
Product is installed at "C:\Program files\IBM\SQLLIB\".

Thanks for the answer. That is what we thought. Just to let others know, it seems that CA's All Fusion (CoolGen) 6.0 doesn't work with DB2 Ver 8.2. We applied fixpak 7 taking us up to 8.2 and now CoolGen doesn't work. It did work when we were still at ver 8.1. Everyone be carefull. We didn't know we were going to ver 8.2 buy applying the fixpak until it was to late.
