DRop Table in Global temporary table

Hi,

I am using Global temporary table in a code.
If i dont use drop table performance of code takes 10 sseconds
But on explicit use of drop Table same code takes double the time.
and in one of the code brought done the cics_region and data base aslo.
Why is it so?
should we always use implicit drop.
