DB2 not able to find RAM after 2.71GB

Hi,

We are running stress test on DB2 8.1.6 (32-Bit) Enterprise Server Edition. It is crashing after consuming 2.71GB of RAM. Total RAM in the system is 8GB and AWE settings are made to access the RAM. DB2_AWE as well boot.ini (/PAE) are set as it used to be when using DB7.2.5 version, from which we have migrated now.

DB2 is not able to find RAM after this, as it started saying "not enough memory to process the statement" and some other memory/heap related messages start appearing in the log. Any ideas why it is not exceeding this limit, while for DB2 7.2, same settings were using upto 3.6GB RAM peacefully.

Other difference we have is, DB2 7.2 was running on Win2000, and DB2 8.1.6 is running on Win2003 Enterprise Server Edition.

Any help in this direction will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Harpreet

What are your DB2NTWORKSET registry variable values? If you haven't changed the default, try setting min and max to 1G and see if it helps.

Thanks,
But as per IBM, this registry variable is for WIndows NT only. And we are using Windows 2003.

Regards,
Harpreet

The differences between WinNT and Win 2003 are much less than Microsoft would like you to believe.
