Server_encrypt

Hi, I'm trying to change the authentication on the server
to SERVER_ENCRYPT. Obviously the client application has to encrypt the password before sending it.
Which algorithm or method can we use to encrypt it in
Java so that DB2 can interpret at the server side. Also for a shell script on the client, what kind of encryption can be done for DB2 to interpret on the server side?
