How to set SQL directives on AIX server for compiling programs in MF Cobol

We plan to migrate our applications from mainframe (OS/390 V2R5 with DB2 5.1) to AIX server with DB2 and MicroFocus Cobol. We are doing the initial study now and are trying to compile some sample programs in the AIX environment. We have been able to compile simple cobol programs (with no embedded SQL statements) successfully after setting the environment variables PATH, COBDIR and LIBPATH appropriately.

For compiling cobol programs with SQL statements, we have set the DB2PATH and COBCPY environment variables. But still we are getting and error message that "No SQL directives have been set". Need help on how to set SQL directives.
