DB2 certification details

I would want to know which DB2 certification is advisable for a starter.
Should I be taking the 500 series (or) the 700 series.

IIRC 500 is for v7, 700 is for v8...

I am taking up a new work which involves DB2 and I believe they are using verison 7. So I would prepare for 512 paper to begin with

If you do it that way, you'd only have one more test to write to add the v8 certification. It's an upgrade exam, although the focus is entirely on the new features which is actually harder IMO.
