beginner in db2 peformance and tuning.

Hello

I am the Linux System Administrator. I installed IBM DB2 V7.1 on Linux 7.3 on Pentium 4 with 700 MB Physical RAM.

My boss has given me assignment to Implement DB2 Performance and Tuning on above server. But I'm not aware about any database concept and require parameter which needs to improve database perferance and tuning database.

Can anybody guide me at initital stage to start db2 performance tuning. What is the road map to start work on this assignment.

After implementing on above server then next goal is to implement on production server.

have a look at the db2 library and check db2administration guide : performance
any specific reason why installed V7 . this will be out of service very soon.
V8 has some advizor gui that recommends settings. These will point you to settings.
