Lightbulb Access to remote db without cataloging it?

Hi All,

Is it possible to connect to a remote database from a CLI application (or the db2 shell) without cataloging it first? For example that is possible for a java program using JDBC (with level 4 driver I guess).

Thanks
Alexander
