DB2 Certification #701

Hi folks,

I am a Sybase DBA but new to DB2 world. My current customer required DB2 certification. Therefore, I need to clear the test #701 (IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 UDB V8.1 for Linux, UNIX and Windows) as quick as possible. I am studying following materials for this exam:
1) DB2 UDB V8.1 Certification exam #701 Study Guide – by Roger E Sanders.
2) Tutorials: DB2 UDB for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 8 DBA Certification (701) Preparation

I took the practice test at Self Test Software and scored 85%. However, I heard the actual exam is quite hard. I like to verify is the Study Guide sufficient to pass the actual exam?

Any comment or suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks,
SC

Practise.

Hi.

I think from the theoritical point of view what you have done is good. I would suggest that you download the Fast Path Course as well from the IBM Site and also install a working version of db2 on one of your machines and do some hands on. I am sure you will encounter certain situations which the book does not cover. That will help you.

All the best..
