rollforward question
we are using db2v7.2 fix pack 6 aix 5.2
every night we start online backup at 9 PM and it finished at 11:30 PM, at the same time we are running a application , if for any reason the application failed at 10:20 PM during the onlinbackup, how can I recover the data?

I guess you'll need to restore from the previous day's backup and then rollforward to the point of failure as usual.

Say, the appl fails today, ie 21 Jan 2005 at 1020 pm ... You started the online backup at 9 pm and it does not finish until 1130 pm

In this case, you'll have to use yesterday's backup and roll the db forward to a PIT needed ..
