z/os and s/390

After a gap of 10 years, I will be again working with DB2 on mainframe.
Is there any good book on S/390 or z/os, that adresses the components
of mainframes i-e RACF, ACF2 , data sharing, parallel sysplex ,attachment
facilities etc.
The mainframe manuals are always overwhelming. I prefer a hard copy

and specific about OS, no need about DB2

regards

Mujeeb

Check www.amazon.com

Most of the books have sample pages including the index, and they have reviews by customers who have read them. You can also purchase some of them used.

yes, that's the best ... If you want to go up to Version 8, buy the latest version which was released a 5-6 months back

Cheers

I have heard rave reviews about that book, but my question is that this book
in any way helpful to understand the OS/390 facilities like RACF or DASD etc.
