I know that the sqledosd() function can open the client node directory and search for all cataloged database. But if there is a database in the server that didn't cataloged in the client, how can I notice that the database is exist?

This function is provided by the db2 admin instance as 'Discovery' ... You can do this from the control centre ... but have not come across anything programmable ... I could be wrong .. Check the db2 manuals for discovery
