way to turn mon switch for all..

Isn't there anyway to turn monitor switches on for all application for a database.

AFAIK, to do this one need to turn this at dbm level which needs restart of instance.

TIA.

You do not need to restart the instance for the monitor switches change ... This is true for V8 and IIRC, V7 also

but "dbm cfg show detail" does not show

Thanks Sathyaram..

"dbm cfg show detail" does not show it changed untill we restart the instance.
Are we missing something ?

Actually we are looking to turn switches on at database level not just an application level so ended up changing it at DBM level, Is there anyway to do it at whole database level ?

I'm afraid, snapshot is an instance wide operation and therefore the parameter is at the index level ...
What version of db2 are you on ?

Cheers

As I said earlier, you cannot turn it at a database level .. it can be done only at the instance level ...

On 8.1 and above the monitor switches are definitely configurable online

The monitor switches are set at the database manager level (instance), but you can request snapshots for a particular database.
