Is there anyway in UDB to assigne a device name or file system so whilet aking backup we just refer to it instead of specifying full path all the times.

As some parameter like 'newlogpath' , such thing exists for backup also like 'backuppath' ?

Not anything as far as i know ..

But, if you are using a script, then you may do a cd before doing a backup ..

Eg.
#!/bin/ksh
cd /dbbackup/mydb1
db2 backup database mydb1
