Hello All,
I've got a very strange problem with DB2 v8.1 Express Edition (installed on Windows 2000 Server). I set the thing up with no problems, using all the defaults from the installation program, and when I'm on the local machine, I'm able to access it with no problems from the Control Center. However, when I try to connect from a remote Control Center or via Perl's DBD :: DB2 module on another box, I get a very strange error:
SQL0901N The SQL statement failed because of a non-severe system erorr. Subsequent SQL statements can be processed. (Reason "Unsupported function for SPMDB connect".) SQLSTATE=58004
I've searched all over the web trying to track down the cause of this error, and I'm having zero luck. Basically, SQL0901N seems to be non-specific, and SQLSTATE here is also not specific to any one condition. That leaves me with the reason, and the only page I've been able to find regarding that says "call IBM", which I can't do because I don't have support.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here? I'll be happy to post relevant pieces of log files, run tests, do whatever would be necessary to figure this out...I'd just like to get it working.
Thanks,
Alex Kirk
