Go Back  dBforums > Database Server Software > DB2 > create partition

create partition
hi,
I am pretty new to DB2 V8.1 so finding a few things difficult. So I need some guidance from the more exp users here. I am trying to create a new partition so I changed the db2nodes.cfg file and also changed the DB2NODE and other variable reg values too. But when I issue the db2start command it gives me an error.
03-01-2005 15:15:42 1 0 SQL6048 A communication error occurred during START or STOP DATABASE MANAGER processing.
Please help me with this issue

Did you also change the /etc/services file.It must have an entry for that new
node/partition
