rsh problem

I am trying to create multiple logical partition on aix 5.1 maintaince level 5.
I have started the rsh server system.created the .rhost file.
But when I try to rsh <hostname> ls.
I get another prompt, nothing happened.
The other command pwd gives the same result.
I can ping the server, with hostname and IP address.
