LDAP / Default settings

Hi - AIX 5.2.0.0 DB2 8.1.7

Does anyone know the reason why it's necessary
to install LDAP on your box in order to set the
default isolation level to UR (Dirty Read) in the
db2cli.ini file ?

There seems to be no obvious connection.

Secondly, does anyone know a workaround ?
