ZOS to UDB Cobol

Need ability for mainframe cobol program to read a federated database.

Current environment
Mainframe – ZOS DB2 V7.1 – DRDA – TCP/IP
Federated server:
Windows 2003
DB2UDB V8.2
Information Intergrator
DB2 Connect ESE

I currently have several federated databases that are accessed via QMF and it works fine. I need a ability for a mainframe cobol program to read a federated database to verify a part number.

What entries do I make on the mainframe? Do I set it up in DRDA?
Do I make a wrapper in federated server for ZOS?
I have read most of the current IBM redbooks and they seem to be somewhat out of date.

as long as the MVS db2 can connect to udb, you can read..handle all tables, known at this udb (local or federated)
just setup the mvs to access udb
see : sysibm.locations/user... to define the connection
see sysadmin of db2 mvs
