Hello
I have seen several posts discussing the COMPRESS option in BACKUP command. Most of these seem to be AIX related.
Has anybody successfully used a third party Compression Utility to improve the File Size on a Windows Platform?
Currently doing standard backup and then pkzip of file to get 10:1 compression (avg. database)
The default Compress option seems to do 5:1 (avg.) which is good, and it even zips as well, but the final size is larger than the option above.
Was just wondering if anyone has successfully implemented a better compression utility that will give the 001 file straight off at 10:1 or better.
Thank you for your time
