Db2 Installation Redhat Es4

Hi,
I'm trying to install DB2 v8.1 via the gui on redhat ES4. I've exported the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL="2.4.19" to get around the java error. However, when I try ./db2setup I get:

DBI1190I db2setup is preparing the DB2 Setup Wizard which will guide you through the program setup process. Please wait.

then the prompt is then displayed and nothing else happens. Has anyone seen this happen before and how do I get the GUI start.
